In the midst of all the crazy that happens when Target releases on e of it's designer collections, I managed to snag a few Jason Wu things. The one dress that I really wanted proved to be elusive and the other two I ordered were sort of ...meh(on me). I ended up keeping this skirt and top. I then hung it in the black hole  closet and kind of forgot about it. 

Funny how being late and have nothing clean and/or ironed come together to produce the perfect storm for the debut of the only Jason Wu I'll ever own!

I took myself on a date today. Coffee, browsing the bookstore and a matinee showing of The Avengers. I'm not really a super hero/comic book fan but my love of Robert Downey Jr. knows no bounds. I came for Iron Man but I stayed for the one, two punch of hotness that is Jeremy Renner and Chris Evans! I'm pretty sure I need to add Captain America to the netflix que.

I'm off to fix dinner for my very own superhero;)

I hate that I've already fallen off the blogger challenge wagon issued by Kyla but it's the start of another busy flower holiday time...Mother's Day!

 Anyway, today's directive was to participate in a blogger challenge. I'm trying to keep up with this one and the instagram photo challenge ! However, one day last week I stumbled across the blog, BowitesandBettys. They had me at "Hello!". Seriously, are they not the cutest?  The darling Hilary has combined style+instagram for #stylememay.

So I present to you with some irony my #stylememay submission. It's a blogger challenge wrapped in a blogger challenge with an instragram twist. Mind equals blown! #stylememay May 8:Fresh lipstick color... 

Revlon Lip Butter-Red Velvet. It's named after cake(yay!) and it has the moisture of a gloss(without the sticky factor) but the saturation of a lipstick. I like it! I may or may not have purchased 6 different shades. Lipstick has become my new cheap thrill purchase.   

I believe in manicures. I believe in overdressing. I believe in primping at leisure and wearing lipstick. I believe in pink. I believe happy girls are the prettiest girls. I believe that tomorrow is another day, and... I believe in miracles.

Is it obvious from the number of pictures that I freakin' love this dress?! Ugghh, some days I get a ton of great pictures and some days I get one(if I'm lucky) that looks decent. Why is this?

I'm smitten with the crazy paisley pattern and the exposed zipper in the back. Annnd, I think I droned on and on yesterday about my love of full skirt;) I wore it out to dinner and jazz clubbing for our anniversary. The husband loved it too! It's one tiny little flaw, it's made completely of polyester and does not breathe at all. Meaning it needs to be a perfectly warmish but breezy day when I wear it so I'm not sweating like a pig. 

I may have to say good-bye to it as I brace myself for Cincinnati's notoriously hot and humid summer. I thought it might be a smidge too short for work but I think the flat loafers soften the omgitssoshort effect...right? I think it has an early 60s feeling to it. Speaking of the 60s, Sunday's episode of Mad Men. So. Effin. Good. I loved it!

getting dressed

Here's a secret. 

When it comes to getting myself dressed, I look and feel the best in fuller skirts and dresses that have a bit of structure and are nipped in(as mom would say) at my natural waist. I guess I'm more of a Betty than a Joan in that regard. When I find something I like I stick with it and it becomes almost like a uniform. 

 
It's almost embarrassing how much I rely on this look. But, if it ain't broke don't fix it!

Happy Anniversary!

 I can't believe it's been two(amazing!!) years. I never had any doubt that you would be the most amazing husband and father. I'm proud to be your wife and I'm lucky to have you as my best friend! Here's to another 50 years of whatever life has in store for us.
