hello all! i feel strangely "in the zone" this week. i have to admit that i'm a big procrastinator and that it causes me a lot of undue stress and worry. i think i may be turning over a new leaf. i've been on the ball getting wedding related and non wedding related tasks accomplished. i think i finally realized that with so much going on the next few months it would be catastrophic to put things off until the very last minute.

no work today but lots of errands to run. i've been having some trouble with my feet and knee lately. i may have to lay off the high heels for a week or so(ha! famous last words). anyway while i was browsing the jcrew website a few weeks ago i noticed they had bucks in the crewcuts section. one of the benefits of having smaller feet is that i can sometimes get shoes in kids sizes:) i have to tell you i adore bucks!!! i wore them in high school my junior and senior year everyday with my uniform. i'm sure my fascination with them is based in nostalgia. i'm so happy that i bought them. they are perfect to throw on and kick around town. i guess i'm having a quasi preppy fashion moment this week, yesterday with my anthro striped sweater and today with the bucks, the cardigan and the pearls. i was also hunting for a pair of skinny cropped jeans and found them at jcrew. i like the fit and the cut but i'm not so sure about the color. i feel like it's that weird in between color denim. i may have to dye them darker. i realize that i never photograph my bags. i used to be one of those that switched out my bag everyday and that got to be a bit much. i've now started purchasing more expensive bags that i can carry all the time. i was looking for a really nice brown or tan bag. of course, i found it at anthro...on sale..score! it is so soft and slouchy and pefect. at the same time i bought this bag i ordered one from jcrew that i love. however, i haven't been able to part with this one just yet:) i'm hoping the new jcrew bag will make it's debut soon.

maybe it's all of the sunshine, but i can't stop smiling and dancing around! a small disagreement with my oldest daughter didn't even damper my mood:)

i'm adoring this cute little top i found at h&m. i've been seeing striped tees all over the magazines but haven't found one that i liked until i stumbled on this one. and at $10 i may go back and get every color! i saw this skirt on the f21 website and loved the color but i wasn't sure if it would work on me for some reason. i love it! i am a little dressed up today but i definitely see wearing this skirt with flats or flat sandals this summer. it also has an elastic waistband(which can be useful on some days, if you know what i mean)

i made it through the end of the week and i'm trying to convince some of my friends to celebrate it at happy hour. have a lovely weekend and a happy easter!

the sun made a an appearance today! it was lovely. i actually ran some errands this afternoon without my coat :0 it's not enough to defrost the icy tundra that used to be our back yard but it was so nice to feel the sun on my face.

i've discovered that i love the look of light colored skirts and dresses with dark tights and light colored shoes. this is something that i would have never tried before but having this blog and looking at myself objectively has really helped me work on figuring out my style, what i like and the things that look good on my body. i was kind of mish mosh of styles today(preppy, romantic, funky) and i'm not sure if this really work appropriate but these days i find myself dressing more for myself.

i'm lounging on the sofa after a kind of busy day enjoy the opening ceremony of the winter olympics. they lost a young athelete today during a training run and watching the horrific video on the news literally made me weep. it was heartwarming to see the respons his delegation got as they entered the arena. there something about the olympics that makes me feel like the world is a better place than we give it credit for. on a lighter note...i loved the us team's outfits:)

no big plans this weekend. maybe i'll surprise the family with heart shaped waffles on valentine's day. have a lovely weekend!

yesterday was another long and busy but fun day!

i think i'm finally ready to confess my reason for the lack of posting and general whining about long days and exhaustion. i'm getting married...in 98 days! or at least that's the plan. i've been keeping it to myself because right now we are extremely worried about the budget. due to some unforeseen events our budget was gutted and now we are scrambling to put together a plan b. so there it is. i'm getting married on may 1.

yesterday after work i met up with a friend that also happens to own an amazing catering company. the plan was to talk menu, etc and then head out for dinner. we had a wonderful time putting together a great menu. she needed some work clothes and an outfit to wear out dancing so she enlisted my help as her personal shopper. we had a blast putting different looks together. then we had a fantastic dinner, a great bottle of wine and talked about everything from food to men to the inappropriate conversation two employees of f21 were having while we were in he dressing room(i won't go into details but when did it become okay to talk about kinky sex at work?). it was a great night!

i didn't think this outfit was anything special but i got a ton of compliments on it yesterday:) the jacket is another one of my favorite f21 finds. i love the sparkle in the threads. the blouse was a late night walmart find. i'm pretty sure that it's almost 100% polyester so it can feel a little icky on the body. i almost didn't buy it but ultimately the print, the slight old lady vibe and the$5 price won me over. these wide leg jeans are the only jeans that are comfortable for me to wear all day.

today it's off to the gym and dinner with the future in-laws tonight. do you have any big weekend plans? have a wonderful saturday!

i promised myself that i'd be more frequent about my posting but i've been slacking. yesterday was a long day and time just ran out. doug and i had an impromptu date night and i finally got to see up in the air. i loved it!

today promises to be another long day. doug's car is in the shop which means i'm doing all of the shuttling today:( there's work, one of the girls has a doctor's appointment and another needs a ride to and from work...not to mention figuring out dinner and some work to once i get home...i'm exhausted just thinking about it.

with that being said i'm dressing for warmth and comfort today. this top has been seen on here before and it is one of my favorites. last time i paired it with my wideleg jeans but today i thought i'd try the look with skinnies. i like the way it looks with the black turtleneck underneath. it's reminiscent of a pinafore...hmmm do little girls even wear those anymore?
