Friday nights around here usually involve pizza and a riveting installment of Dateline:Real Life Mysteries. So glamorous! But, last weekend I shimmied my way into a pair of gold skinny jeans and dangerously high heels. I did my best to shake off the 'burbs while hitting a few of downtown's hipster hangouts. A fabulous time was had by all:)

October is shaping up to be a busy month with work so I decided to take myself to see a matinee of Pitch Perfect (treat.yo.self!)on Saturday afternoon. It was funny and sweet and made me want join an a capella group.

I also think I'm starting to feel inspired about getting dressed again. In the past few months everything was feeling forced or just plain old "wrong". I've gained a few pounds-which never helps- and I think when you start blogging your outfits there's a tendency to overanalyze. Not everything I wear is going to be "OMGFASHION!!!!" I'm starting to remember that the only person that needs to feel good about what I'm wearing is me. It seems so simple.

Obnoxious neons and glitter shoes are always going to take me to my happy place:)

Things that happened over the weekend- the Bengals won(good), the Reds won and clinched the division championship(better), and the first day of fall(cue angels singing!).

 It's officially fall- hellz to the yeah!! I actually wore boots this weekend...and a scarf! Shut. The. Front. Door! I decided to celebrate the return of temperatures for normal people by breaking out my crazy pants. Whenever I clad my lower half in animal print, I try to tame it a little. I dressed down the jeans with a denim shirt and flats to keep the Peg Bundy effect to a minimum.

driven to distraction

To paraphrase Carrie Bradshaw, I've been cheating on fashion with furniture flowers.

Between proposal writing, meeting new clients, doing the work, all the while trying to be a decent wife and mother, the blog has taken a backseat. I'm trying to put together a  posting schedule that works. I'll be back soon:)

Summer saturation- the point where you are sick to death of the heat, humidity and every single summer dress you own. You start thinking about making soups for dinner, evening walks that don't include coming home drenched in sweat, Octoberfest, and dressing in layers! Just like everyone else, I'm a tad tired of summer but fall means winter quickly follows and I HATE winter! 

I'm not even sure when the photo was taken(2 weeks ago?) but since the I spent the last week working in cutoffs and tank tops and I have a sneaking suspicion that that the two events I'm prepping this weekend will see me in something equally unfashionable, I thought I'd share a pic of me looking kinda pulled together(!).
